How to perform the Turnabout
Step 1 Moving Off
Before moving off you must first check that it is safe to perform the manouevre.
1) Ensure that your gearstick is in neutral or in park (c and you car is secured with the handbrake.
2) Start your engine.
3) Check over your left shoulder for any pedestrians or cyclists that may be on the footpath that may become a danger to you.
4) Check your main mirror to see if there is any traffic coming from behind that may prevent you from moving off.
5) Put your car in 1st gear or Drive (if in an automatic car).
6) Look into your right hand wing mirror for any traffic that may be approaching from behind to overtake your car.
7) look into your right hand side Blindspot to see if it is safe to move out.
8) if it is safe then you can proceed by releasing the handbrake and moving slowly.
9) Turn the steering wheel quickly to the right fully.
10) Keep moving slowly until you get to the other side of the road and stop just before you reach the kerb.
